You will be working both in the beautiful gardens surrounding Cockenzie house and in the studio using photos for reference. Colour can be used not only to represent the environment around us, but also to express the feelings that the landscape inspires.
This week you will create expressive, abstracted paintings from your own imagination, conveying not only aspects of the landscape that so inspire you, but also your personal response to it.

Painting Holidays In France
Treat yourself with a trip to 'La Salle' in the Gers region of France for a fun week of painting and indulgent holiday-ing. Join me for a week of bountiful, beautiful flowers! Using acrylic and other media we will develop our understanding of colour mixing and mark marking with the view to create joyful, colourful floral paintings filled with expression.
24th September - 1st October 2025 Abstract Landscapes
Explore the landscape, loosen up your technique and play with colour! Using acrylic and other media, we will be using the countryside around us for inspiration. We will experiment with expressive mark making and let loose with colour!
